At the end of the offsite, the CEO shared his thoughts:
"This is the first time we’ve done an offsite like this. At first, I was skeptical, but I’m committing to take this activity and make it part of my daily routine. Every day, I’ll take 10 minutes to step out of the office and reflect on what I achieved today."
That moment perfectly captured the essence of the day—the importance of creating space to think strategically, beyond the daily rush.
In that moment, we knew—this day had made an impact.
Last week, Iris Freund and I had the privilege of facilitating an executive offsite for a dynamic startup. It was an inspiring day that showcased the power of stepping back, reflecting, and focusing on strategic thinking.
We worked with the leadership team to define what it truly means to be part of this team. Using Design Thinking tools and partnership models, they explored their leadership identity, tackled collaboration challenges, and uncovered blockers and enablers to effective teamwork. Together, we mapped critical processes, identified pain points, and proposed practical next steps with clear ownership.
This is just the beginning of their journey. Leadership isn’t built in a day, but moments like these—where a team steps outside their comfort zone, looks inward, and takes action—are the moments that create lasting change.
